Based in Russell, Bay of Islands, we’re here for boaties, racers, cruisers and coastal adventurers who care about quality. From offshore kits to technical polos, everything we sell is gear we’d wear ourselves.
Our story
The Chandlery was founded with a clear purpose: bring world-class sailing clothing to New Zealand, backed by real experience and advice.
Launched by Warren Haslip (a commercial skipper, marine electronics technician and ex-Coastguard volunteer with decades at sea) The Chandlery is grounded in one thing: gear that works when it counts.
With a lifetime spent on the water, Warren knows first-hand the importance of having reliable gear. “I’ve been in those situations where equipment failures can turn a good day on the water into a dangerous one. It’s why I’ve always been picky about what I use and why I wanted The Chandlery to stock only the good sh*t that makes your life better.”
And this is why The Chandlery became New Zealand’s official Henri-Lloyd supplier — technical apparel with decades of innovation and ocean heritage behind it.

Yes, we’ve done pop-up shops from Opua Cruising Club to Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club in Wellington and more. If you’d like us to bring Henri-Lloyd to your marina, club, or event, get in touch.

Because we believe in gear that holds up not just in theory, but in real life. Warren still wears Henri-Lloyd jackets that are 16+ years old, and they’ve done the miles. That’s why we chose to bring the brand back to New Zealand. It’s not about trends, hype, or heritage for heritage’s sake. It’s about providing NZ sailors with the best kit - gear that performs, lasts, and earns its place onboard.
Do you stock gear for both men and women?
Absolutely. The full Henri-Lloyd range is available in men’s and women’s cuts including jackets, base layers, polos, shorts and technical trousers. Only one that's available just in men's is Lifestyle range.
Do you offer team kit or corporate wear?
We do. We help yacht crews, events, and brands create custom-branded Henri-Lloyd apparel. Check out our Team Kit page for more info or to request a quote.
Do you offer returns or exchanges?
Yes. We have a 30-day return policy on unused, tagged items in original packaging. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for full details.
Do you ship NZ-wide?
Yes. Additional shipping fees apply, but it's free on all online orders over $250.
Is The Chandlery the same as Swell Marine?
We’re sister companies. The Chandlery is all about sailing apparel and Henri-Lloyd. Swell Marine handles marine electronics, power systems and installs. Same trusted team, but different focus.
